How accurate are the dimensions?
‹ Back to Products & Stock help
In short: our listed dimensions are a reliable guide and accurate to within a small margin. It is always worth allowing a centimetre or two, and measuring your space with a little clearance.
A reliable guide
The measurements shown on our product pages are there to help you plan with confidence, and you can rely on them when working out whether a piece will suit your space.
Allow a small margin
Furniture is often handmade or upholstered, so the odd piece can vary very slightly from the figures listed, and soft, padded items can give a little when handled. For that reason, we would always suggest:
- Allowing a centimetre or two either way on the listed sizes.
- Measuring the narrowest point of your route in, such as doorways and tight corners.
- Leaving a little clearance rather than working to the exact millimetre.
Our Will It Fit? guide shows you exactly what to measure.
Good to know
If a piece is a tight fit, our delivery team are experts at making it work, often by removing feet or taking the backs off sofas. And if you would like us to double check a measurement first, just ask.
