Step 1: Measure your furniture
Start with the piece itself. On every product page you will find the width, height and depth under "Dimensions". Write these down. For sofas, note the measurements of each individual section too, as many can be delivered in separate parts.
Step 2: Measure your front door
Measure the width and height of your front door or main entrance, then compare them with your furniture. If the piece is a little wider, the feet or legs can often come off, and our team will remove them for you on the day.
Step 3: Measure hallways, internal doors and corners
Measure the width and height of your hallways and internal doorways, including any tight corners you will need to turn. Always measure the narrowest point. If a doorway is narrow, a door can usually be taken off its hinges to buy a few extra centimetres.
Step 4: Measure stairs, landings and lifts
If your furniture is going upstairs, measure the width and height of the staircase and check the headroom and the landing space for turning. For flats, measure the lift, or the stairwell if you would rather we carry it up. No floor is too high: we deliver to top-floor flats and everything in between.
Step 5: Check the room
Finally, plan where the piece will sit. Leave around 45cm of clearance between a sofa and your coffee tables, walls or other furniture, so the room does not feel cramped and you can move around easily.
