Why might my order not be accepted?
‹ Back to Ordering & Payment help
In short: it is rare, but now and then an order cannot be accepted. It is usually down to a payment issue, an item selling out, or a problem with the delivery details. We will always let you know and help put it right.
Common reasons
- A payment could not be authorised. Your card issuer may have declined the payment or a verification check did not pass. See I'm having a payment problem, what do I do?
- The item had just sold out. Our stock is limited and often one of a kind, so occasionally a piece sells before an order is finalised. See can you check stock or reserve an item?
- We could not confirm your details. Sometimes we need to check the billing or delivery details before we can go ahead.
- A rare pricing or listing error. Very occasionally an item is listed incorrectly, and we may need to check it before accepting the order.
What happens next
If we are not able to accept your order, we will get in touch to explain why and to help you sort it out, whether that is trying again, choosing an alternative, or arranging a refund. If any payment was taken for an order we cannot fulfil, it is refunded to your original payment method. See how long do refunds take?
Good to know
Placing an order is your offer to buy, which we accept once we confirm it. In the uncommon event we cannot accept, you are never left out of pocket, and our team will always help you find the best way forward.
